Dennis Kneale of CNBC “Reports” speaks with Bob Phillips of Spectrum Management Group. Phillips advises viewers where to look for investment opportunities as the U.S. emerges from the recession. “I would have exposure in the energy sector,” suggests Phillips. “When you look at a growing economy you need energy to fuel it. Demand in the U.S. is down 5% year over year, so all it takes is that demand starting to pick up and oil companies will do very well.”
Palash Ghosh of Dow Jones Newswires spotlights Bob Phillips, managing partner of Spectrum Management Group. Phillips comments on how emerging markets affect U.S. exports, taking into consideration the retail and consumer sectors’ increasing dependence on China and other emerging nations. "Certain U.S. companies will definitely benefit from increased sales to the emerging markets," reports Phillips. "But that benefit will be swamped by the overall size of the rest of that company's operations. The impact of sales to the developing world will render a minimal impact on total revenues."
